This is the same document that ships inside the Milepost app — no shorter, and worded identically.
Terms of Use
Short version: writing, sealing, sending and opening letters is free forever, and there are no ads.
What Milepost is
Milepost lets you write a letter to someone — or to yourself — seal it, and then carry it to them with your own steps. A sealed letter cannot be read again, by anyone including you, until it has travelled the distance you chose.
The rate never changes
1,000 steps = 1 mile. At most 30,000 steps count in a single day, which exists only to guard against sensor glitches. If steps can't be read, the waystations carry your letter 3 miles a day instead. These numbers are published in Settings and we do not change them.
Your letters
You own everything you write. Milepost stores it locally and claims no rights over it. Because there is no server copy, losing this device or deleting the app means losing your letters — please keep that in mind.
What is free, and what the waystation adds
Writing a letter, sealing it, sending it on the road and opening it when it arrives are free forever, and there are never any ads. Every postcard and the whole atlas are free as well. Waystation Pro adds two things and nothing else: several letters on the road at the same time — the free version carries one — and the Pro stationery and wax seals. Nothing you have already written is ever locked away behind a payment.
Waystation Pro — the three plans
- Weekly — $1.99 per week. An auto-renewing subscription. No free trial: a week is short enough on its own.
- Yearly — $19.99 per year, opening with a 3-day free trial. An auto-renewing subscription.
- Lifetime — $49.99, paid once. Not a subscription. It never renews and is never charged again.
Prices are given in US dollars. The App Store bills the equivalent in your own currency and shows you that exact amount before you confirm anything.
How renewal works
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically for another period of the same length unless you switch renewal off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges your Apple Account for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price for the plan you are on.
Cancelling
Open Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions on this device and turn off renewal for Milepost. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — Waystation Pro stays open until that day and you are not charged again. Only Apple can cancel a subscription; we have no way to do it for you. A cancelled subscription never removes a letter: everything you wrote stays where it is, and every letter already on the road keeps walking.
The free trial
The yearly plan begins with 3 days free. If you do not cancel before those 3 days are up, it becomes a paid year automatically. If you buy a subscription while a free trial is still running, the unused part of that trial is forfeited — Apple does not carry the remaining days over.
If a price changes
If the price of a subscription goes up, Apple notifies you before it happens and asks for your agreement. The higher price does not take effect until you consent to it. If you do not, the subscription simply stops renewing at the end of the period you already paid for.
Refunds
Every purchase goes through Apple, so every refund does too. We cannot issue refunds and cannot see your payment details. Ask Apple directly through the Report a Problem page for your Apple Account, or through Apple Support.
Restoring a purchase
Reinstalled the app, or moved to a new phone? Sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore purchases on the waystation screen. That restores what you bought — not your letters, which never left the old phone.
Fair use
Don't use Milepost to harass anyone, and don't try to defeat the step counter. A letter that arrives without the walk isn't the thing this app is for.
No warranty
Milepost is provided as is. Step counting depends on your device's sensors and on iOS, which keeps only about seven days of step history — open the app regularly so no miles are lost.
Who publishes Milepost
Milepost is written and published by WANG WENJIE. Questions about these terms, or about a purchase, go to Fuuqiu@gmail.com and are read by that person.
